Director, Risk Administration
Who I am
I am originally from the UK but, during my 30-year banking career, have also worked in Spain, South Korea and the Cayman Islands. I have acquired experience with a range of international banking groups, including KBL epb.
My aim was always to develop professionally while, simultaneously, optimizing my contribution to the organization.
I consider "home" to be Madrid and was very pleased to accept a position here with KBL epb in August 2011.
I have a degree in economics and public administration from Bedford College, University of London, and an MBA from the Whitman School of Management, Syracuse University, New York. I also have a banking diploma (ACIB) from the Chartered Institute of Bankers, UK. I am a fluent Spanish speaker and have been elected a member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists, UK.
What I do
My role as Director, Risk Administration, encompasses two functions. The first is credit risk management — analysing, approving and monitoring, locally or via Luxembourg financing proposals presented by the team of private bankers in Spain. Our second function is to prepare financial management information relating to KBL España for both local executive management and the group.
What I think
Experience shows that collaboration, whether locally or internationally across a group, maximizes performance beyond the sum of its individual parts. It also makes work more enjoyable which, given the time and effort we devote to it, surely justifies collaborating whenever we can.
