KBL epb appoints Frédéric Genet as CEO, Professional Services 

Former CEO of Luxembourg’s second-largest bank joins senior management of KBL epb. As head of newly created post, will focus on growth of Global Investor Services, Global Financial Markets and Credit departments

KBL European Private Bankers (KBL epb) announced today the appointment of Frédéric Genet, an industry veteran, as Chief Executive Officer, Professional Services, for the Group, based in Luxembourg.

In this newly created Executive Committee-level position, he will focus on reinforcing the services provided by the Group’s Global Investor Services, Global Financial Markets, Assets & Liabilities Management and Credit departments.

Genet previously served as Chief Executive Officer of Société Générale Bank & Trust, the second-largest bank in Luxembourg. As well as holding the position of Country Head for Société Générale in Luxembourg, Genet also served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Luxembourg Stock Exchange and the Luxembourg Bankers’ Association (ABBL).

Following the appointment of Genet, the Executive Committee of KBL epb is now composed of the following six members:

  • Jacques Peters, Group Chief Executive Officer
  • Frédéric Genet, Chief Executive Officer, Professional Services
  • Olivier de Jamblinne de Meux, Chief Executive Officer, Luxembourg
  • Marc Lauwers, Chief Operating Officer
  • Yves Pitsaer, Chief Financial Risk Officer
  • Yves Stein, Chief Executive Officer, Private Banking

“Together, I am confident that we will grow our core business of private banking, meeting the evolving needs of our clients – including ultra high net worth individuals – with the support of our Professional Services departments, notably by providing structured solutions and financing.

” A French national, Genet spent more than three decades at Société Générale, primarily in Paris, holding positions such as Senior Banker, Global Head of Export Finance and Head of the Tailor-Made Financing department. He is a graduate of the Faculty of Economic Science in Grenoble, France, who holds a Master’s degree in finance.

Genet will commence his new role at KBL epb in May 2013, following the approval of the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF).
